What is the company’s history?
Aricent is the successor of Hughes Software Systems, which was established in
1991. The company became Flextronics Software Systems in 2004, after acquiring
other companies.
frog design, a strategic, creative consulting firm, was acquired by
Flextronics in 2004 and has been part of its software development and solutions
business since the summer of 2005. frog design has identified emerging market
opportunities and transformed ideas to products for almost four decades, and
continues to operate as an independent division of Aricent.

What is the origin of the Aricent name?
In the summer of 2006 the employees were asked to suggest a name for the new
company, in response there were more than 2,000 entries. The winning name was
penned by Mr.Hans Juergen Leicht and it was selected because of its
international sound and optimistic outlook. Aricent is the combination of two
words "arise" & "ascent".

What geographic regions do you operate in?
Aricent is a strategic supplier to the world's leading application,
infrastructure and service providers, with operations in 19 countries worldwide.
Development centres in US, UK, Germany, Ukraine, India, China and South Africa.
What does 4G mean for the future of Aricent?
The world is moving towards the next generation all IP based networks that
promise to deliver wireless data rates of more than 100mbps. It would enable you
to access high speed Internet and various multimedia services such as video
download, mobile TV, and the real time video conferencing.
Aricent is contributing significantly in the evolution of 4G technologies such
as WiMAX and LTE. We are very optimistic about the next generation revolution in
the communications technology and are geared to provide key software solutions
to OEMs, service providers, and device manufacturers deploying the 4th
generation networks and services. These new technologies also give us
opportunities to help our customers sustain and enhance their previous
generations of products.

Our 500+ customers are the world’s leading telecom carriers, equipment
manufacturers, and device manufacturers. We service these companies through our
33 offices in 19 countries. Our customers include industry leaders such as
Verizon, Nokia, Sprint, LG, Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, and Nokia Siemens.

What are the required academic qualifications?
Typically, we look for graduates in computer sciences and electronics and
communications, but the criteria may vary based on job profiles and

What is the Aricent work culture like?

What is the interview process at Aricent?
Our interview process differs from hierarchy and functions. Normally we have
2-3 technical/ functional rounds depending upon the requirement during which the
panel assesses the candidate on technical skills, experience and behavioral
competencies. This is followed by final HR round.
What career path do you offer? Can I move up internally?
At Aricent we believe in cultivating talent from within the company so that
employees may achieve their career goals. There is no strictly prescribed
“one-plan-fits-all” career model. Instead, we have a flexible system designed to
accommodate your individual requirements and to provide the broadest possible
range of career opportunities.
Is there any on-the-job training?
In order to provide the right orientation, comprehensive training and
information to a new employee, we have a strong and focused orientation program
called New Employee Orientation (NEO). In addition, we have technical training
for new engineering students, as well as ongoing non-technical and leadership
training throughout the company.
For example, in India the technical training program is called PRISM, and
non-technical and leadership training is offered through Academy One.
